Expertise and Research Interests

My main interest as well as my expertise are in the domain of combat modeling and simulation (M&S) and the relation to command and control systems (C2S). To this end, I am interested in ongoing research in various topics, among others:
- Embedded simulations
- Data management

In addition, I am studying respective standardization efforts, such as:
- The Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Architecture Framework
- The NATO Consultation, Command, and Control System (C3S) Architecture Framework
- Technical Reference Architectures
- NATO Interoperability Management Plan
- Level of Information System Interoperability (LISI) model

- Command and Control Information Exchange Data Model (C2IEDM)

Consequently, application of respective commercial standards are interesting me as well, for example:
- Model Driven Architecture (MDA)
- Web Services and Web related Standards, such as:
- Extensible Markup Language (XML)
- XML Metadata Interchange (XMI)
