Expertise and Research Interests

Dr. McGregor is interested in how psychological factors affect health. In particular, she is interested in how constructs like psychological stress or resilience influence endocrine and immune function among breast cancer patients and those at risk for breast cancer. Dr. McGregor is a clinical psychologist so her research focus is on psychological interventions. The goal of her work is to underscore the importance of psychological intervention by elucidating mechanisms underlying how psychological interventions change not only psychological functioning but also biological functioning and health. Hopefully, this work will result in greater incorporation of psychological interventions into the standard of care for all cancer patients.

Other Expertise

Dr. McGregor is a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington state and maintains a small private practice.
