- Extensive research experience in all aspects of oral microbiology and the role of oral microorganisms in the maintenance of oral health and the initiation and progression of oral disease, especially dental caries
- Microbial isolation and identification
- Molecular methods for typing bacteria, analysis of population structures and impact of stress on species genotypic and phenotypic diversity
- Isolation and identification of yeasts from medically compromised patients
