Expertise and Research Interests

My current research interest lie in the areas of student and teacher acquisition of social studies concepts and skills. I work with pre-service and in-service teachers.

I have made presentations and written papers on all of the above topics over the past years.

In the past 5 years my most immediate research interest has been in schools in Texas during the New Deal Era into World War II and schooling in Colorado, especially coal mining camps, in the late 1890s to 1920s, of the CF&I company. I have also written and made presentations on teacher certification in Colorado during that same time period.
