Expertise and Research Interests

Dr. Buskirk's research thrusts are in the area of nutrition and management of beef systems. Current interest is in deliniating the mechanisms of proliferation and differentiation of bovine subcutaneous and intramuscular preadipocytes. Additional applied research projects underway are nutritional manipulation of carcass traits, grouping cattle into more uniform carcass outcome groups, and calf weaning systems.
