Expertise and Research Interests

My pedagogical interests while at the University of North Dakota (1992-2008) include:
Undergraduate science education with an emphasis in philosophy of science; the development and implementation of interdisciplinary curricula integrating science with the humanities, particulary philosophy.

Related Consulting:
2004-06 - Life Science Reviewer, Houghton Mifflin, School Division, a science text series for grades K-6, to be published in 2006.
1994-95 - Life Science Reviewer, Silver Burdett Ginn. Elementary Science Program, a text series for grades K-8, published in 1996.
1991-92 - Life Science Reviewer, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, School Division, a text series for grades K-8, published in 1993.

Other Expertise

My interests while at California State University, Bakersfield (1985-1992) incuded the following:
Research - exploring roost-site fidelity in over-wintering white-crowned sparrows; studying the foraging habits of residential suburban western toads; and unraveling some bizarre behavior if two species of billbugs/weevils.
Teaching - The development and teaching of science courses for pre- and inservice teachers, K-12; advising students with majors in liberal studies, child development, and biology.
