Dr. Christine Garvey

My clinical work with children and their families has spanned a variety of settings. These settings include the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Ward in a refugee camp on the Thai-Cambodian border, Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, and caring for children with developmental disabilities in both the home and at school.

My research work centers on Effective Parenting Programs for parents with young children. My special interests include intergenerational and cultural parenting issues, and the use of storytelling in research.
