Expertise and Research InterestsMy research experience consists of conducting approximately 20 randomized clinical trials as a Research Co - Investigator/Clinical Consultant in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center involving new and experimental drugs and/or non - pharmacologic treatments for hypertension and diabetes. As an Assistant Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, my teaching schedule includes these courses: Role of the Advanced Practice Nurse, Ambulatory Diagnostics, Physical Diagnosis Across the Lifespan, Pharmacotherapeutics, Primary Care Concentration for the Family Nurse Practitioner students - Pediatrics, OB/Gyne, Internal Medicine, Family Practice in both the didactic and clinical seminars. I am also an advisor for Doctoral and Master's students. My clinical expertise includes both ambulatory and inpatient diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic disease. Health promotion and disease prevention is also an important part of my clinical practice.
