PI - "A Chronic Grief Intervention for Alzheimer's Caregivers" funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (2008-2010)

PI - "Nursing Home Placement in Alzheimer's Disease: Implications for Caregiver Mental and Physical Health" funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation's Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity (2004-2006).

PI -"Nursing Home Placement in Alzheimer's Disease" (2003-2004) funded by the Midwest Nursing Research Society - an exploratory study investigating predictors of nursing home placement and Alzheimer's caregivers' needs surrounding this experience.

Visiting Research Specialist - UIC College of Nursing - (2001) Diabetes Management in the Context of Severe and Persistent Mental Illness: Developing Evidence-Based Guidelines.

PI - "The Caregiving Experience: Older Women Caring for Sposes with Alzheimer's Disease at Home" - Ph.D. dissertation (2000)- a phenomenological/feminist study exploring older women's choice, control, motivation, and meaning in Alzheimer's disease caregiving.

Currently, exploring new areas of research:
- Designing an intervention to assist caregivers in managing their chronic grief after placement of a family member with Alzheimer's Disease in a nursing home.
