Expertise and Research Interests

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Host and bacterial proteases in periodontitis including biochemical characterisation and identification, gingival tissue localisation, crevicular fluid detection, regulation by inhibitors, role in extracellular matrix degradation and relationship to disease activity.

Salivary inhibitors and defence factors and their interactions with enzymes from periodontal lesions, the oral mucosa and oral bacteria.
