Expertise and Research Interests

I am an immunologist involved in the study of immune responses and their regulation during the chronic parasitic diseases schistosomiasis. These studies extend to both protective immune responses (i.e., resistance against reinfection) and immunopathogenesis. I am also involved in public health issues involving parasitic diseases and a variety of eradication, elimination, and control efforts in the United States and globally.
