Qualifications

Ph.D., University of Cincinnati, Pharmacology and Biophysics, 1979.
B.A., McPherson College, Biology, 1974.

Expertise and Research Interests

Voltage-gated ion channels, patch-clamp, electrophysiology of nonexcitable cells. I am especially interested in voltage-gated proton-selective channels in phagocytes and alveolar epithelial cells. The interrelationships between NADPH oxidase and proton channels in the phagocyte respiratory burst are a continuing interest.
