Expertise and Research Interests

Much of the morbidity and decline commonly attributed to aging may be partially a consequence of increased sedentary behavior in older age. My interests are in the epidemiology of physical activity and resistance to chronic disease with aging. My currentresearch focuses on the effects of exercise training on fat patterning and glucose and lipid regulation in population-based samples of older adults.

Other Expertise

I wish to be contacted by interested students (medical, graduate or undergraduates) as a potential research mentor/thesis advisor.
