Purification of rare and novel bioactive components from fruits and vegetables. Structure activity relation for antioxidant activity.

Industrial Relevance

My area of research is focused on natural bioactive compounds identification from fruits, vegetables, spices and herbs. Most of the identified compounds have been demonstrated as antioxidant, antimutagenic, antifunagl and anticancer activity. Novel processes for the enrichment of phenolics from grapes, pomegranates, Dellinia indica have been patented. In addition, I have developed novel process for the isolation of curcuminoids and Ar. turmerone from spent turmeric oleoresin for the first time.
