Expertise and Research Interests

Laboratory diagnosis of significant viral infections of humans, including HIV, HCV, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, and varicella zoster virus; with special emphasis on HIV.

Other Expertise

Infection with the human immune immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is associated with severe morbidity and mortality. My interests center on virologic markers that are useful in (1) the diagnosis of HIV infections, (2) the prediction of the clinical outcome, (3) the clinical development and monitoring of antiviral therapies for HIV infections.
