* Economics of disability (especially child disability including effects on family resource allocation, fertility, investment in child health, etc.)
* Determinants of the demand for health care treatments and of health behaviors
* Interactions between socioeconomic determinants of health and health behaviors and genetics

* Assessing the effects of maternal smoking on birth outcomes using instrumental variable analyses with genetic instruments
* Identifying the effects of craniofacial anomalies on long term health care use and socioeconomic outcomes
* Identifying the determinants of birth outcomes
* Assessing the returns of health spending on life expectancy worldwide
* Assessing the effects of ethnic ancestry and wealth on child development
* Identifying the effects of racial residential segregation on child health and prenatal health care

- Evaluating the effects of education on health and interactions between education and genetic endowments

- Evaluating the impact of child health on subsequent maternal fertility

- Genetic instrumental variable studies of the effects of maternal health inputs on birth outcomes
