Expertise and Research InterestsI have two research programs that are occurring simultaneously. The first is the application of chronobiology to nursing practice and nursing research. I have studied the temporal patterns of body temperature in critically ill surgical and medical patients and continue to do instrument development in this area. I want to extend my work into the area of the timing of patient care interventions. I have extensive knowledge in the area of human biological rhythms. My second area of research interest is in distance learning programs. Other ExpertiseI have extensive administrative, management, and leadership experience in both academic and hospital settings. My clinical background is 40 years of adult critical care experience. Future ResearchI have interests in pain management of critically ill older adults and elderly.
