Future Research

I plan to examine white matter abnormalities in impulsive and aggressive patients with schizophrenia as part of my NIMH-funded R01 study. I also plan to examine white matter abnormalities in geriatric depression as part of my NIMH-funded RO1 subcontract project.

Industrial Relevance

My work is relevant to understanding the neural circuitry involved in the treatment of schizophrenia and geriatric depression.
In particular, my colleagues and I have found that brain white matter organization predicts treatment response to escitalopram in patients with geriatric depression.
