QualificationsPh.D., Yale University, 1989. B.A., Yale University, 1984. Fellowship, Yale University. Expertise and Research InterestsBiological, social and psychological factors interact in a complex system to influence all stages of health and illness. On-going studies include: (1) identifying factors that influence recruitment, adherence and retention in AIDS clinical trials; (2) identifying the behavioral and psychological consequences of HIV counseling and testing for women. Additional interests: (3) diasaggregating the effects of race and social class on access to health care, health behaviors and health outcomes; and (4) other studies examining prevention interventions, high-risk sexual behavior, access to health care, and health outcomes for persons with HIV.
