Expertise and Research Interests

Dr. Jeff Dixon is a cell biologist who focuses on ion transport and signal transduction in skeletal cells. He uses sensitive optical, electrophysiological, molecular and functional approaches to study osteoclasts, osteoblasts and chondrocytes.

Industrial Relevance

Ion channels and receptors are potential targets for the development of therapeutics to arrest bone loss in diseases such as osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
