Expertise and Research Interests

My primary focus is on improving meadowfoam (Limnanthes) oil yield in Oregon as a means of enhancing the economics of commercialization of this new oilseed crop. High priority is for breeding and development of new genetic lines for Oregon farmers; and the use of agronomic management to realize high oil yield per acre in Oregon. Principles of applied (whole plant) physiology have been used to define yield limiting factors for the purpose of improving yield.

Other Expertise

Academic Experience:Advisory capacity for topics in research and public policy regarding New Crops -- state, national, and international;Executive Committee Member, Council for Agricultural Science and Technology 1996-1998;Speaker at Joint Congressional Briefing on topic of Diversify U.S. Crop Production, February, 1996, Washington, D.C.;Invited plenary session speaker, on new-crops development policy, for the First Australian New Crops Conference, The University of Queensland Gatton College, Lawes, Queensland, July, 1996
