Research interests: analytical modeling and testing of structures subjected to natural hazard loads, modeling of nonlinear, nonconservative behavior, historic buildings, composite hybrid structures (fiber composites-wood-high-performance concrete), application of supercomputers in analysis of hysteretic systems, building envelope.

Experiments: hot/cold box, testing of materials, NDT of structural elements, fire experiments, static and dynamic connection tests, scaled-models experiments, full-scale shake table tests of frames, full-scale structural tests (beams, shear walls, decks, columns, composite beams, light-frame buildings), in-situ evaluation of historic buildings.
