Expertise and Research Interests

I am currently interested in the membrane-cytoskeletal interactions that occur in mammalian muscle cells. The two systems of focus are the assembly and anchoring of the acetylcholine receptors at the post-synaptic membrane and the interaction of the dystrophin protein complex with the sarcolemma and extracellualr matrix. I am using transgenic and targetted gene disruption animals to investigate the function of the dystrophin associated proteins in these systems.
