Dr. Baumgarten's main research interest is the epidemiology of aging. Her current research focuses on the etiology and prevention of pressure ulcers in the frail elderly in hospital and long term care settings. She is also pursuing a research program on parkinsonian signs in relation to disability in elderly community residents.
