Expertise and Research Interests

I am interested in several areas that overlap. All, however, as in the area of Health Psychology. I have been or am currently interested in the diseases of arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and kidney dialysis. I am also interested in, issues regarding caregivers of persons with chronic illnesses.

I am interested in the topics of loneliness, social support, depression, perceived control and self-efficacy, as they related to the adjustment of the patient sand caregiver in the chronic illnesses described above. Stress is also an important variable tobe considered in adjustment.

My Foreign interests are:

Scotland;
Sweden.

My Cross-Departmental interests are:
health psychology;
elderly;
social support;
care givers.
