QualificationsPh.D., University of Iowa, Counseling Psych, 1987. Bachelor of Music, University of Iowa, Music, 1970. Expertise and Research InterestsI am interested in several areas that overlap. All, however, as in the area of Health Psychology. I have been or am currently interested in the diseases of arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and kidney dialysis. I am also interested in, issues regarding caregivers of persons with chronic illnesses.
I am interested in the topics of loneliness, social support, depression, perceived control and self-efficacy, as they related to the adjustment of the patient sand caregiver in the chronic illnesses described above. Stress is also an important variable tobe considered in adjustment.
My Foreign interests are: Germany; England; Scotland; Sweden.
My Cross-Departmental interests are: health psychology; elderly; social support; care givers.
