Expertise and Research Interests

My main research interests involve young children's social cognition. In particular, I am interested in the role that young children's latent cognitive representations of the self and of peers may play in guiding or constraining their discrete social cognitions, and of interactions between emotion regulation and discrete social cognitions. I am also interested in models of young children's social functioning in which social cognition acts as a mediator of associations between aspects of the parent-child relationship and children's social behavior with peers.

Future Research

I am currently developing questions pertaining to the impact of early child care experiences - particularly care-giver relationships and program quality - may have on children's social cognition.
