Expertise and Research Interests

My research involves behavior in brain damaged subjects, in collaboration with Dr. Antonio Damasio. Research opportunities include the cerebral basis of attention, motion, stereo, color and hand and eye movements. The Visual Function Laboratory is located in the General Hospital and uses several computerized techniques and automated recordings of eye movements. Studies of limb control are in collaboration with Dr. Warren Darling in Exercise Physiology. Studies on driving and car crashes in neurological patients use the Iowa Driving Simulator in the Center for Computer-Aided Design directed by Drs. Ed Haug and Tom Dingus, in collaboration with the Injury Prevention Center directed by Drs. Jim Merchant, Craig Zwerling, and Bob Wallace. Has NIH and CDC funding.
