Expertise and Research Interests

I am working on a study of the influence of Anglo-Latin prose on Old English poetry-language and larger poetic themes and images. I am writing a study of critical work on women in the Old English poem Beowulf. I am studying the intersection of oral and written traditions in the Middle Ages. I am also working on Oral Theory and medieval romance and on the rise of commercial civilization as represented in medieval romance.
