Expertise and Research Interests

Current interests regard clinical and outcomes based research involving the clinical practice of endocrine surgery. An interest in medical informatics is employed to accomplish these projects. Areas of concentration include diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, endocrine pancreas, and adrenals. A special interest in intraoperative hormone monitoring is also maintained. Research and administrative efforts center around novel techniques of surgical skill teaching and competency-based assessment in surgery.
