Expertise and Research Interests

I have been using Magnetic Resonance Imaging for velocimetry, diffusion-weighted measurements since 1998. I am experienced in pulse sequence programming and post-processing algorithm developement and implementation. My other areas of expertise include fluid mechanics and dynamics, transport processes (heat and mass transfer) and chaotic dynamics.

I have the following research thrusts:
1. Noninvasive and nondestructive Magnetic Resonance diagnostics for biological or bioengineered soft tissues integrated with biomechanical models
2. Integration of fluid mechanics and Magnetic Resonance protocols for biophysical flows and biochemical reactors
3. Micro-MRI and molecular MRI to investigate and treat muscle atrophy due to musculoskeletal diseases and injury

Diagnostics of degenerative brain diseases using functional and molecular MRI
Modeling of flow and transport processes in the brain and internal organs
Structural and functional diagnostics of bioengineered cell-seeded hydrogels
Characterization of multiphase flow in complex separation/mixing reactors and microfluidic systems
