Expertise and Research Interests

Specialist in chronic pain management with expertise in intra-muscular stimulation and epidural steriods.

Brief Description of Research Area: The use of epidural steroids for pain.

Clinical Interests: Acute and chronic pain management, especially the treatment of myofascial pain syndromes.

Summary of Research:
I am currently involved in a double blind study assessing the efficacy of epidural steroids in spinal stenosis. Patients either receive steroid or preservative-free saline. Their pain relief and functional activities are then followed and assessed.

There are several other uses for epidural steroid injections on which I am reviewing the literature.
