Expertise and Research Interests

I do research on the behavioral aspects of insurance and law. I have studied white collar crime, criminal justice procedures, regulatory law, trends in civil litigation and, recently, civil procedure. I am interested in how organizations mediate and transform law and in how individuals resist, transform and comply with rules that structure their action. I am also interested in feminist theory applied to law. Recent projects include a study of insurance and the response to sexual harassment, analysis of regulatory law, an historical analysis of the use of local courts, and a study of adversarial behavior in civil litigation. My Cross-Departmental interests are: law; environmental regulation; legal culture; organizations
