Expertise and Research Interests

I am very interested in technological innovations in social work education and practice. This includes website development and dissemination, simulations and games, and the impacts of technology on clients and consumers. I am a past member of the Council on Social Work Education's national Board of Directors where I started its Technology Committee. I also served on the CSWE Commission on Accreditation where I was a member of its technology committee. I am also engaged in portal and website development for my school, the Indiana University School of Social Work. I maintain a personal website at http://hsmedia.biz.

Other Expertise

Knowledgable about "Overseer of the Poore" roles in 15th-16th Century England.

Restoration of Baroque and Classical musical instruments, especially woodwinds. (Former curator at the University of Michigan School of Music's Stearn's collection.)

Future Research

Development of online initiaitives that promote social service agency and organization adoption of technology. Evaluation of technology impacts on agencies and service delivery. Development of simulations and artificial environments relevant to teaching social work education and practice.
