He has completed B.Sc. in Fisheries and M.Sc. in Aquaculture and Management from the Fisheries Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU); M.Phil. in Environmental Engineering from the Urban and Environmental Engineering Department of Tokyo University, Japan; Executive MBA from the Business Adminstration Discipline of Khulna University, Bangladesh and PhD in Sustainable Technology and Policy from the Institute for Sustainable Technology Policy of Murdoch University, Western Australia, Australia.
During his higher studies, he has successfully been completed the following research:
1. How to develop the landfill for managing sustainably the solid waste and subsequent leachates by the application of ecological principles (such as biological treatment) and how to identify and treat the microlevel of heavy metals in landfill leachates.
2. How to propagate the shrimp fry in the laboratory and culture them in the field for maximizing the profit level using appropriate technology and ecologically sustainable principles.
3. How to integrate different coastal resources through generating renewable energy like tidal energy from the existing infrastructures of embankments and sluice gates of South-East Asian countries like Bangladesh.
4. How to familarize sustainable development principles at different levels of Entrepreneur as the marketing principles.
Dr. Salequzzaman has been started his service life as a Research Fellow in the Ministry of Science and Technology in 1989. The following year 1990, he has been joined as an Assistant Director in the Department of Environment (DoE).under the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF). After joining in DoE, he has successfully been done a lot of training programs and acquired the knowledge of various environmental issues and problems in Bangladesh and around the world and how to solve these problems by considering the appropriate technology and the concepts of ecologically sustainable development tools.
Dr. Salequzzaman's Career goals are:
1. To develop knowledge base of sustainable development principles applicable to environment and development issues
2. To involve in the debate on collaborative and cooperative research, training & teaching, and development to achieve sustainability development anywhere in the world with particular reference to Bangladesh and South- Asian countries
3. To practice the critical decision-making, problem solving and thinking skills process in the society
4. To develop leadership and teamwork skill through development & management practice and conflict resolution principles
5. To conduct need-based research through integrated teaching ability, participatory management, and consultancy work

* Founder Head of the Environmental Science Discipline of Khulna University, which is the First Environmental Science Institution in the field of higher studies of Environmental Management among all Public Universities in Bangladesh
