QualificationsM.Sc., University of South Florida, Engineering Science, 1999. B.S., Universidad del Norte, Mechanical Engineering, 1995. Ph.D., University of South Florida, Engineering Science. Expertise and Research InterestsMy research areas are Intelligent Process Control and Industrial and Flexible Automation. For Process Control Applications I am proficient using: Matlab; Simulink; MathCAD; Labview; General DCS Programming Architecture. For Industrial and Flexible Automation I am proficient using: Labview; Ladder Programming (Allen Bradley and Omron PLC's); Scorbase PRO (ESHED's Robots); ACL (ESHED's Robots); SpectraLigth CNC interface; SmartCAM (Turning and Milling); ARENA. Other ExpertiseI have worked with Design of Experiments and Statistical Models Building to optimize process plants. I have also developed educational resources to teach DOE both at an undergraduate and graduate level. Future ResearchI intend to explore Artificial Intelligence control and pattern recognition applications in medical sciences. Industrial RelevanceAll my research is about improving operating conditions in process and manufacturing plants, such that better standards (tighter) can be implemented and money saved from day to day operation.
