Expertise and Research Interests

My research concentrates on developing new computerized training devices for medicine. I utilize both mannequin-based systems and screen-based programs. I am working with Anesoft Corporation (www.anesoft.com) on new screen-based simulation programs for training, continuing education, and competency assessment. I have developed programs for anesthesiology, cardiac arrest management (ACLS), critical care, cardiovascular physiology, conscious sedation, bioterrorism and neonatal resuscitation. These simulators provide intelligent help during the case scenario and intelligent debriefing following the case.
