Expertise and Research Interests

My current research interest are the philosophy of addiction, the philosophy of the emotions, and the philosophical dimensions of Benedictine monasticism. My first professional research and publication was on the works of Martin Heidegger. I have continued my interest in Heidegger to the present, and may again publish in that are in the next few years. In between working on Heidegger and my current interests, I did research and publication both in the area of contemporary hermeneutics, and in that of theanalytic philosophy of language, especially the language of works of fiction.Cross-departmental interests:emotions;addiction;interpretation;language;monasticism.
