Expertise and Research Interests

Weylin Sternglanz is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. He has received three Faculty Merit Awards and was a finalist for NSU Advisor of the Year.

He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Virginia in 2003, where he was a recipient of the Maury Pathfinder Award for Best Master's Thesis in Psychology, as well as an Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award.

His research interests and publications are in the following areas:
interpersonal perception; nonverbal decoding accuracy; deception detection; empathic accuracy; attraction; psychosocial antecedents of health-risk behaviors among adolescents; thought suppression.
