Behavioral science, basic behavioral processes of human and animal behavior

Causes of destructive, disruptive, and maladaptive behaviors in mental retardation, autism, and other developmental disabilities

Behavioral pharmacology and psychopharmacology, especially effects of psychotropic (behavior modifying) drugs on destructive behaviors, learning and memory, and cognition in children and persons with developmental disabilities and geriatric populations

Future Research

Untoward effects of environmental enrichment procedures on destructive and disruptive behaviors in persons with intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavior disorders

Negative emotional responses and aberrant behaviors to incentive shifts and potential genetic variables for individual differences and showing chronic aberrant behaviors. Potential mechanism for problems with environmental transition shown in persons with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Human and animal laboratory models of self-injurious behaviors and maladaptive escape behaviors for the discovery of behavioral and pharmacological treatments

Industrial Relevance

Phase IV clinical drug trial methodology for pediatric, developmentally disabled, and geriatric populations
